About Partners Mutual Insurance Company

Herbert C. Ewert
|
History
Founded by the late Herbert C. Ewert, Sr. on June 11,
1931, Badger State Casualty Company Limited Mutual
insured automobiles exclusively in Wisconsin. We changed
our name to Badger State Mutual Casualty Company on
February 16, 1956.
In 1957, we began writing Fire and Homeowner insurance.
Ten years later, Commercial Multi-Peril, Workers
Compensation, and other commercial lines were added to
our portfolio.
Our operating area was expanded to include the state of
Michigan in 1959 and the state of Iowa in 1972.
When Herbert Ewert, Sr. passed away in 1964, his son,
Herbert C. Ewert Jr. succeeded him until his retirement
in January, 1993. His other son, Charles then served as
President until January 1, 2002 at which time Charles’
son, Richard was elected CEO.
On February 20, 1992, we adopted the name of Partners
Mutual Insurance Company. This name was chosen to remove
the regional concept of the former name. It reflects the
favorable company-agent-policyholder relationship and
our ongoing commitment to our many agents and insureds
across the Midwest.
